Fixed points for (ψ,φ)(ψ,φ)-weakly contractive mappings in generalized metric spaces

We establish a fixed point theorem for mappings satisfying (ψ,φ)(ψ,φ)-weakly contractive conditions in complete generalized metric spaces, a concept introduced in [A. Branciari, A fixed point theorem of Banach–Caccioppoli type on a class of generalized metric spaces, Publ. Math. Debrecen. 57 (2000) 31–37]. The theorem presented extends and generalizes many existing results from the literature.
