An additive reverse of the Cauchy–Bunyakovsky–Schwarz integral inequality

An additive reverse inequality for the Cauchy–Bunyakovsky–Schwarz inequality is obtained. Some applications for the variance and moments of continuous random variables defined on finite intervals are also provided.
