Calibration of an acoustic system for measuring 2-D temperature distribution around hydrothermal vents

► We present a novel algorithm to determine the acoustic center-to-center distances. ► We also present a novel algorithm to determine the system latencies. ► The possible system latency error and the resulting temperature error are analyzed. ► We have also developed the experimental setup for calibration. ► The results of the experiment confirm the effectiveness of our algorithm.
