Simulation of ultrasonic lamb wave generation, propagation and detection for a reconfigurable air coupled scanner

► A complete model of piezoelectric air-coupled transducers is presented. ► The transducers are modelled in 1D using a linear systems model. ► Wave propagation is modelled in 3D using the local interaction simulation approach. ► Ray-racing is used to combine the transducer and propagation models. ► The model shows good agreement with theory.
