A new spectroscopic binary BD +38°2777 in the field of doubtful open cluster DOL-DZIM 5

► We report photoelectric photometry of 13 stars in the Strömvil system. ► New radial velocity measurements of 11 stars have been obtained. ► New spectroscopic binary BD + 38 3777 has been detected. ► Main parameters of its orbit have been determined. ► It is shown that Dol-Dzim 5 is not a real open cluster.
