The mass of the dark matter particle: Theory and galaxy observations

► Observed values of the galaxy surface density are contrasted with the theoretical values. ► As a result, the DM particle mass turns to be in the keV scale and the density profiles turn to be cored. ► We compute in addition the halo radius, galaxy mass, central density and particle velocity dispersion. ► These results reproduce observed values within one order of magnitude independent of the particle model. ► Our framework captures many essential features of dark matter in galaxies allowing to determine its nature.
