Enhanced magnetic anisotropy of nickel nanosheet prepared in Na-4 mica

► Nickel nanosheets of thickness 0.6 nm have been grown within the two dimensional channel of Na-4 mica. ► The magnetization studies of the material have been extensively done. ► The anisotropy constant increases by two order of magnitude relative to bulk nickel. ► The material also satisfy the Bloch equation with different value of the Bloch coefficient. ► The high value of the room temperature coercivity allows the material to be used as magnetic memory devices.
