Size-dependent magnetic behavior and spin-wave gap in MnF2 epitaxial films with orthorhombic crystal structure

The results of elastic and inelastic neutron scattering in MnF2 films with orthorhombic crystal structure demonstrate that size-effect for the temperature of the magnetic transition appears for rather thick films 120-1250 nm. This is attributed to the low anisotropy energy in the films inferred from the spin-wave gap.
