Direct acceleration of electrons by intense crossed Hermite-Gaussian laser beams

Electron acceleration by two crossed linearly polarized Hermite-Gaussian laser beams in vacuum has been proposed and investigated in the Letter. The laser fields have the same amplitude and frequency. To accelerate electrons along z-axis directly, the necessary conditions and energy gain expressions are given.
