Level spacing distribution in systems with partially chaotic classical dynamics

We solve the longstanding problem of the distribution between the neighboring energy levels in generic (partially chaotic) quantum systems. The distribution we obtain is in excellent agreement with the data obtained from atomic physics, optics and acoustics.
