Luminescence of Eu2+ In Some Chlorides

Efficient luminescence is reported for the first time in Eu2+ activated double Chlorides ABCl3. A simple wet-chemical preparation is described. Emission intensities are comparable to that of the commercial phosphor. Excitation covers near UV region.
