Reanalysis of 239Pu Prompt Fission Neutron Spectra

It is shown that the shape of the prompt fission neutron spectra in 239Pu(n,f) from a recent publication is biased because of the way the neutron detection efficiency was experimentally determined. A more realistic detection efficiency is proposed and the 239Pu prompt fission neutron spectra are reanalyzed accordingly. The obtained results are found to be in good agreement with earlier measurements and major evaluated data libraries.
