Dose estimates when electrons strike a copper absorber during injection at the Canadian Light Source

► Electrons striking the absorber are considered responsible for high radiation. ► A model is constructed to estimate the dose when the absorber is hit by electrons. ► The dose rates are obtained assuming the number of electrons lost at the absorber. ► Dose rates are also examined for various injection efficiencies.
