In this work we describe the simulation response of float-glass resistive plate chambers (RPCs) exposed to gamma rays in the energy range 0.1–100 MeV. In the present study of RPC setup, float-glass electrodes are utilized instead of bakelite plates. A GEANT 3.21 Monte Carlo code is used for the estimation of γγ contributions to the total number of collected glass-RPC signals. As expected the response of the detector is improved due to using glass electrodes. In the present configuration of RPCs, the usage of float glass as electrode material, allows us to produce them on industrial scale easily and quickly. According to the simulation results, a sensitivity sγ=6.398×10-2sγ=6.398×10-2 at Eγ=100MeV is estimated for isotropic gamma source while sγ=5.556×10-2sγ=5.556×10-2 for a parallel gamma emission at the same energy.
