Radiation damage is an important problem in accelerator facilities. At SPring-8, a high-dose dosimetry system was introduced to measure the dose distribution in the storage ring and beamline hutches. At the storage ring, dose distribution was measured with GafChromic films HD-810 and MD-55, which detected the local areas irradiated with excessive synchrotron radiation scattered from the absorbers and crotch absorbers. Around the electron injection part, high-energy neutrons produced at the electron beam loss were detected with CR-39 plastic nuclear track detectors, which indicated the abort positions. Also, at-beamline doses of direct and scattered white X rays, respectively, were measured with HD-810. These applications showed that the dosimeters are promising tools for high-dose distribution measurement in electron accelerator facilities.
