Temporal variation of soil gas compositions for earthquake surveillance in Taiwan

► Variations of soil-gases composition is studied at two different faults of Taiwan. ► Tectonic based model for earthquake forecasting in Taiwan was proposed and tested. ► Selection criteria to identify threshold earthquakes have been defined. ► Stress/strain transmission for earthquake may be hindered by tectonic settings.
