Metabifurcation analysis of a mean field model of the cortex

► Metabifurcation analysis is proposed as a new method for investigating complexity. ► It is applied to mean field equations that model the activity of human cortex. ► Links between model parameters and dynamics are revealed using bifurcations.► The method is very flexible and is easily applied to any system of ODEs.
