Extreme value laws in dynamical systems under physical observables

► We study extremes in deterministic chaotic dynamical systems. ► We consider observables similar to those found in physical applications. ► Extreme value limit laws depend on the fractal dimension and on the local geometry of the observables. ► We obtain a formula for the general case and a different formula for the specific case of the Lorenz63 system.
