On the geometric quantization of contact manifolds

► We describe contact analogues of many aspects of (symplectic) geometric quantization. ► The resulting quantization agrees with a result of Guillemin and Boutet de Monvel. ► This approach works only when the contact structure comes from a CR structure. ► For non-CR contact manifolds quantization can instead be defined via index theory.
