Involvement of the AT1 receptor in the venoconstriction induced by angiotensin II in both the inferior vena cava and femoral vein

▶ Ang II induces venoconstriction either in rat vena cava or in femoral vein. ▶ Only AT1 appears to be involved in the Ang II-induced constriction. ▶ Ang II responses were bigger in vena cava than in femoral veins. ▶ In both veins, either vasodilator prostanoids and NO blunt the Ang II-induced venoconstriction.
