• A simple, stable and eco-friendly method of biosynthesizing AuNPs was successfully developed using Inonotus obliquus extract.
• The TEM images have shown that the formed AuNPs were predominately spherical, hexagonal, triangle and rod shapes.
• Size of the AuNPs 11.0–37.7 nm.
• The biosynthesized AuNPs exhibited excellent anticancer, antibacterial and ABTS radical scavenging activities.
A simple and rapid synthetic methodology for gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) was developed using the extracts of Inonotus obliquus (Chaga mushroom) at room temperature without the use of deleterious agents. The AuNPs were spherical, triangle, hexagonal, and rod shaped with a mean diameter of 23 nm. The eco-friendly synthesized AuNPs showed excellent antibacterial, antioxidant, and cytotoxicity against the MCF-1 human breast cancer cell line and NCI-N87 human stomach cancer cell line.
Gold nanoparticles are rapidly synthesized at room temperature using Chaga mushroom extract. Green synthesized AuNPs were 11.0–37.7 nm in size. AuNPs exhibited excellent anticancer, antibacterial and antioxidant activities.Figure optionsDownload as PowerPoint slide
