ABSTRACTAS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES rapidly develop, perioperative nurses have the opportunity to take advantage of these advancements.USING EXISTING infrastructure, web-based resources can bring valuable information directly to the OR that otherwise might be unavailable.THIS ARTICLE EXAMINES the advantages of using nursing informatics to shape existing infrastructure into a teaching and orientation tool for perioperative nurses, with the goal of developing web-based applications that can positively influence perioperative nursing and patient safety.
