The demands of the health care environment, the need for clinical placements, the changes in health care delivery, and the high volume of nursing students all have created a need for innovative pedagogies, such as the use of high-fidelity simulation. Although many faculty recognize the value of teaching and learning through high-fidelity simulation, implementing a program of simulation within a curriculum is a challenging process. This article describes how the principles of transformational leadership were used to guide the development and integration of a simulation program into the curriculum.
