Imagen profesional enfermera en el centro de salud: percepción de los niños respecto a nuestra vestimenta

ResumenObjetivoEl objetivo es evaluar las preferencias de la población pediátrica del Centro de Salud de Pontedeume (A Coruña) en relación con la vestimenta de los profesionales de enfermería.MétodoEstudio descriptivo, en el que participaron pacientes pediátricos que acudieron al Centro de Salud de Pontedeume entre los meses de marzo y abril de 2010. Los datos fueron recogidos mediante un cuestionario formado por 14 preguntas, cumplimentado durante una entrevista semiestructurada con el niño y su acompañante, previo consentimiento verbal, acompañada de presentación la presentación de diferentes fotografías.ResultadosEl perfil de los 112 respondientes era de una niña, de entre 3-5 años, que acudía acompañada de su madre a la consulta de niño sano, en turno de mañana, no habiendo estado nunca hospitalizada. La mayoría de niños entrevistados prefieren enfermeras mujeres, jóvenes, que llevan uniforme de trabajo completo de color azul, a ser posible con dibujos. Los distintos tipos de vestimentas son el primer paso en la relación asistencial e influyen en la confianza generada en nuestros pacientes y familiares.

ObjectiveThe objective is to evaluate the opinions of a paediatric population of Pontedeume Health Centre, A Coruña, Spain regarding the clothing of nurses.MethodA descriptive analytical cross-sectional study with of paediatric patients in Pontedeume Health Centre between the months of March and April 2010. Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of 14 questions completed during a 15-minute semi-structured interview, and included a presentation with different pictures. This was carried out with the child and the person accompanying him/her, after obtaining verbal consent.ResultsThe profile of the 112 paediatric interviews obtained was, a girl, aged 3-5 years, who had never been admitted to hospital, and who came with her mother to a healthy child clinic during the morning shift. Most children interviewed preferred young female nurses, working in completely blue uniform, with patterns, if possible. Although the fact of our different types of clothing really has nothing to do with our professionalism and our expertise, we know that the first step in the care relationship is to win the trust of our patients and families.
