Évaluation de la conception et des pratiques standard d'un centre d'hémodialyse au Maroc

The number of nosocomial infections and their growing resistance to antibiotics are a global concern and can however be reduced by the compliance with good hygiene practices. The objectives of this work consisted in evaluating the respect of standard precautions practices as well as the hemodialysis center conception, and evaluating their evolution following the actions implemented. Two anonymous cross-sectional surveys were conducted in hospital hemodialysis center Al Ghassani of the city of Fez (Morocco), the first took place before development of the center, while the second was after sensitization of health workers and renovation of the center. Data were collected using a grid of 58 questions. A general improvement in the infrastructure of the renovated center and a failure of the practice of some standard precautions as well by the staff as by the patients were noted. Efforts are still continuing in terms of training and awareness, development and implementation of procedures and protocols missing.
