چکیده انگلیسی
A study, carried out in 2013, involving 127Â students at the National Medical Health Care Institute (INMeS) in Cotonou, Benin, identifies their perception of the management and quality of the clinical supervision. The data were gathered with the aid of a self-administered questionnaire and were subjected to a content analysis. According to the students, no prior explanation is provided with regard to the objectives and the process of the practical placements, which start without any medical visit, or welcome booklet, in a climate of fear created and maintained by certain supervisors. They report a lack of integration, insufficient learning materials and activities, the absence of transport as well as the almost complete failure by the teachers from the INMeS to visit them during their practical placement. The summative assessment is carried out in their absence without any explanation, or information being given to them with regard to the criteria. These results show the poor quality of the clinical supervision. Recommendations for improvements have been made.
