Integración sociocultural y enseñanza del español en Andalucía Aplicación del programa Aulas Temporales de Adaptación Lingüística (ATAL)

Los procesos de migración a nivel global y la llegada de gran cantidad de inmigrantes a España han implicado integrar la diversidad cultural como un aspecto relevante para el currículo y la convivencia de los centros educativos españoles. El artículo expone los resultados de un estudio cualitativo, que tuvo como objetivo central analizar la aplicación de las Aulas Temporales de Adaptación Lingüística (atal) en centros educativos de la región de Andalucía, y el rol que han cumplido la comunidad educativa y los profesores del programa en el desarrollo del mismo. Se analizó además el rol e incidencia de la figura del mediador intercultural como un actor complementario a las acciones del programa. Los resultados obtenidos permiten destacar las dificultades con las que se enfrentan los profesores de atal y el importante rol que han adquirido los mediadores interculturales para potenciar el programa y favorecer la integración socio-lingüística de los alumnos inmigrantes.

The processes of global migration and the arrival of large numbers of immigrants to Spain have required the integration of cultural diversity as a relevant aspect for the curriculum and the coexistence of Spanish educational centers. This paper presents the results of a qualitative study, the central objective of which was the analysis of the application of the Temporary Classrooms of Linguistic Adaptation (atal) in educational centers in the region of Andalucía, along with the role they have fulfilled in the educational community, as well as the role of the teachers in the program development. Also analyzed were the role and the impact of the figure of the intercultural mediator as a complementary actor in relation to the actions of the program. The results obtained allow us to emphasize the difficulties faced by the teachers of the atal program and the importance of the role they have acquired as intercultural mediators with regard to enhancing the program and the promotion of socio-linguistic integration amongst the immigrant-student community.
