Control of oscillatory behavior of multispecies populations

► The proposed control method for multispecies Lotka-Volterra model by control of birth/death rate is based upon changing the value of an energy-like ecosystem invariant. ► Ability of control to significantly change oscillations amplitude with a small control signal is confirmed both by theory and by simulations. ► Control is robust with respect to parameter changes preserving equilibria. ► Control improves stability of oscillatory behavior by increasing its distance from boundaries of population survival area.
