A grassland ecosystem model of the Xilingol steppe, Inner Mongolia, China

► We constructed a semiarid grassland ecosystem model in Inner Mongolia. ► The model reproduced temporal changes in aboveground biomass recorded in the past. ► The model was tested to various meteorological patterns and stocking conditions. ► The model will asist production activities of the farmers' cooperatives in the area.
