The impact of coccidiostats monensin and lasalocid on Cd and Pb uptake in the isopod Porcellio scaber

► Ionophore antibiotics can affect metal accumulation in soil organisms. ► At levels comparable to those in nature, monensin does not affect Cd accumulation. ► At high concentrations monensin and lasalocid decrease the whole-body metal content. ► Ionophore-contaminated manure has no collateral effects on metal uptake in woodlice.
