Effects of shrimp-farm effluents on the food web structure in subtropical coastal lagoons

► Shrimp-farm discharges reduced biodiversity changing biotic structure of ecosystem. ► Food chain lengths were not affected directly but trophic linkages appeared reduced. ► Sediments, macroalgae and benthic algae exhibited significant enrichment of δ15N. ► δ15N was a better descriptor of shrimp-farm on coastal lagoon food web than δ13C.
