Multimedia services need macrodiversity handoff to guarantee real-time property and quality of service (QoS). Therefore, it is important to consider macrodiversity effect in calculating forward link capacity. In this paper, a novel analytic model of forward link capacity with integrated voice/data/multimedia services is developed with taking into account the effect of macrodiversity. In our analytic model, we define capacity of a system as the available peak load while maintaining a desired service quality. From the numerical results, we can see the quantitative effects of macrodiversity in system capacity. Numerical results show that forward link capacity is affected by the power distribution ratio of multipath signal, the ratio of handoff region and the combining method. Our analytic model can be extended to various environments by adjusting given parameters.
