The ALGADEC device: A semi-automated rRNA biosensor for the detection of toxic algae

▸ We developed a multiprobe chip and a semi-automated rRNA biosensor. ▸ The biosensor can be used for the detection of toxic algae in the field. ▸ The multiprobe chip with 16 gold electrodes can detect upto 14 target species. ▸ The system was evaluated using total rRNA isolated from Alexandrium minutum.
