Global transboundry disease politics: The OIE perspective

► The World Animal Health Organization was formerly the Office International des Epizooties (OIE). ► The OIE is recognized by the WTO as the reference body for animal health in relation to global trade. ► The OIE is responsible for informing members of the occurrence & spread of listed & emerging diseases. ► Terrestrial and aquatic animal diseases are under the purview of the OIE.
