100G in the network of Deutsche Telekom
چکیده انگلیسی

The increased traffic demand in data centers and optical transport networks requires higher speed interfaces for the intra- and inter- connections between routers and switches. After 3 years the 100 Gb/s Ethernet (100GE) interface was standardized in the IEEE 802.3ba standard in 2010. Due to the close relation to the ITU-T the interoperability with the 100 Gb/s Optical Transport Unit (OTU-4) of the Optical Transport Network (OTN) in the G.709 recommendation was achieved. Besides the multi-lane approach of the 100GE interfaces at the client side, e.g. the 100GBASE-LR4 interface, 100 Gb/s single channel formats are needed in DWDM systems for the OTN line side in order to get Tb/s link capacities in next generation networks. Currently, both 100 Gb/s technologies for the OTN client and line sides are introduced in the operator’s networks.

► DP-QPSK-CD format and DSP enable cost effective next generation Tb/s networks.
► Fiber impairments can be efficiently compensated by DSP in advanced receivers.
► A 100 Gb/s DWDM transmission formats fit into existing fiber network infrastructure.
► Silicon photonics is a key technology in next generation higher speed interfaces.
