On a symmetrized definite integration

By means of a certain projection on the median in R2 we report on a new extension of the Riemann integral, that could bring it closer to the Lebesgue integral of real analysis. Evaluation of this integral is shown to be related to the solution of a nonlinear Cauchy problem and or a nonlinear functional differential equation.
