Factorizations of linear relations

Given two linear relations AA and BB we characterize the existence of a linear relation (operator) CC such that A⊆BCA⊆BC, respectively A⊆CBA⊆CB. These factorizations extend and improve well-known results by Douglas and Sebestyén.
