Center conditions and limit cycles for the perturbation of an elliptic sector

We compute the first three Melnikov functions of quadratic vector fields obtained as perturbations of an integrable system which displays an elliptic sector. We uncover the integrable cases and analyse the algebraic nature of higher order Melnikov functions.
