Approach to tuned emitting color of luminescent liquid crystals with substituted fluoropyrrole acceptor unit

A novel strategy to the D-A type LLCs was developed. Introduction of substituted fluoroppyrrole on tolane to give tuned emitting color LLCs. These propeller type molecules exhibit efficient fluorescence in solution/solid state and display typical mesophase behavior.393
