A Verification of High-efficiency DC Micro-grid Power Systems with High-performance Power Converters and Energy Management Strategy

The DC-microgrid power system in the Nushima Island consists of highly efficient power converters with a high performance power controller and energy management scheme for regulating power flows. In this paper, the power converter architecture of the newly-developed DC micro grid system is described with the relevant control scheme, and its practical effectiveness is discussed from the aspect of renewable and sustainable energy utilization.
