Coarse approximation to the multiresolution response of a fiber optic intensity-based scanning 3D-microscope

- The performance of FODS microscopes for surfaces of arbitrary shape has been studied.
- The problems posed by the low aperture fibers have been established.
- The waviness component has been defined on the basis of multiresolution analysis.
- Profile and brightness maps of the waviness have been finally reconstructed.
- The instrument covers the height range from a few microns to one mm.
