Improvement of Processes in the Service Contract Payment System of Brazil's National Cancer Institute

The objective of this article is to present the contribution of process management to the improvements implemented in the Service Contract Payment System of the José Alencar Gomes da Silva National Cancer Institute (INCA). For that purpose, we applied the action research method, including collection of data from the literature and documents and through semi-structured interviews. The improvements brought as main benefits more transparency, agility and rationality in executing the process, increasing the quality and productivity of managing public resources.
