Pixel distribution shifting color correction for digital color images

► This paper proposes an unsupervised color correction approach, abbreviated as PDSCC. ► PDSCC is proposed to correct the color of the outdoor, indoor and underwater images. ► PDSCC has successfully been tested on images downloaded from public database. ► PDSCC outperforms existing state-of-the-art von-Kries hypothesis based color correction methods. ► The resultant images produced are more natural-looking with less over-saturated problem.
