Increasing the test lifetime does not affect outstandingly the progress of the glaze layer, which is reflected in the friction coefficient and the wear evolutions, but it is worthy to notice that this layer is formed and stabilized once the temperature is higher than 400°C, and it is governed by sliding amplitude, frequency as well as load at high temperature. A synthesis curve is presented indicating bilinear trend of wear rate depending on operating parameters, highlighting for each case dissipated energy needed to reach the stable regime of glaze layer development.
