Analytical metrological characterization of the three-parameter sine fit algorithm

► IEEE Std-1241 three-parameter sine fit full metrological characterization is presented. ► The upper bound of the amplitude estimation uncertainty is parameterized. ► Analytical results are found for the AWN case and then detailed for the AWGN case. ► Optimum, and sub-optimum, choice of the design parameters has been provided. ► Optimal choice amplitude estimator's frequency behavior is analytically described.
