Simultaneous gains tuning in boiler/turbine PID-based controller clusters using iterative feedback tuning methodology

► A 4-input-7-output boiler/turbine model is considered for controller tuning. ► A six PID-type controllers cluster is considered controlling nonlinear model. ► The cluster performance is improved through sequential PID gains tuning by expert. ► Simultaneous PID gains tuning is performed using iterative feedback tuning (IFT). ► The IFT-tuned cluster is shown to perform comparably to that tuned by expert.
