- The porous Zn-MOF is successfully synthesized by solvothermal process with imide linker.
- Characterization of the Zn-MOF is successfully done by FT-IR, DR-UV spectra, BET analysis, SEM and powder XRD.
- Zn-MOF is selective towards chromate anion among the other anions tested like halides, CNâ, OAc, H2PO4â, HSO4â, NO3âand OH.
- The metal exchange property of the ligand and forming Cu-MOF and Ni-MOF is observed.
A modified metal organic framework have been prepared by the solvothermal process of 2-(4-carboxyphenyl)-1, 3-dioxoisoindoline-5-carboxylic acid with Zn(OAc)2.2H2O. The framework has a PtS â type net. The obtained porous material has been characterized by X-ray diffraction, Scanning electron microscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, FTIR spectroscopy and BET surface area analysis. The BET surface area was 757Â m2/gâ1. The synthesized MOF exhibits reasonably good fluorescence characteristics. The luminescent studies indicates that the obtained Zn-MOF could be an efficient material for selectively sensing anion especially CrO42â. The mechanism of sensing is also studied in detail. The Zn-MOF senses the anion without altering its structural integrity. This post-synthesis route can be used for synthesis of isomorphous metal-organic frameworks that cannot be obtained by direct synthesis.
