The semi-automatic interpretation of magnetic dyke anomalies

A new semi-automatic method for the interpretation of magnetic dyke anomalies, based on ratios of the gradients of the anomaly, is introduced. The method is applicable to dykes with dips of multiples of 45°. The method is tested both on synthetic data and on data from the Giyani region of South Africa.
