Диалог ÐœÐ¸Ñ Ð°Ð¸Ð»Ð° Булгакова c Иоганном Гете о человеке и его дьяволе (на материале трагедии Фауст и романа Мастер и Маргарита)

This article deals with the ideological influence that the tragedy Faust by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe had on the text of the novel The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. Their respective plots, heroes, themes, motives, and ideas all connect the two artistic works. However, Bulgakov transforms both the central concept and themes of Faust according to the logic of dialogue. He evaluates the idea of evil, and transforms Mephistopheles the fool into the great figure of Woland. Moreover, Bulgakov changes the main hero from the Master (Faust) to Margarita, who personifies the idea of Eternal Womanhood.
