This paper presents a finite element (FE) computation model for estimating the equivalent mechanics parameters of a composite material with randomly distributed multi-scale grains. The model is based on statistical multi-scale analysis (SMSA). First, some definitions of the probability space and statistical two-scale analysis (STSA) of the mechanics parameters for a composite material with randomly distributed grains are briefly reviewed. Next, a computer simulation algorithm for composite materials with random grains is presented. Then an FE procedure based on STSA is proposed and some properties of the equivalent mechanics parameters are outlined. Finally, the FE procedure for a composite material with randomly distributed grains is described and two numerical examples are demonstrated. The numerical results show that the FE procedure based on SMSA is a valid and feasible method for predicting the mechanics parameters of a composite material with randomly distributed grains.
